Salaam, I’m Fatima!
I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and the founder of Salaam Therapy LLC.
Being a South Asian Muslim woman and daughter of immigrants, I understand the unique experiences and stories within the American Muslim community. My counseling approach centers on cultural sensitivity and understanding, honoring the rich diversity and traditions that shape each person’s life journey.
I’m here to support you as you navigate the ups and downs of life, helping you tap into your own resilience and embrace positive changes. My approach is all about creating a safe, understanding space for you—one that feels true to who you are and what you’re looking for.

I have experience working with a diverse group adults, adolescents, and children in psychotherapy private practice and outpatient clinics. I have also worked with children as a counselor in a school setting where I created and facilitated Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and faculty workshops.
When I’m not in session with a client, you can find me somewhere with a warm cup of chai, exploring new places, or catching up with friends and family. I’m also a big believer in the healing power of creativity—I used to be an art teacher and still love to paint in my down time and bring art into the therapy space.
As an eldest daughter and a South Asian Muslim, I’ve personally felt the importance of culturally aware therapists who really “get it.” That’s one of the main reasons I became one! I have also invested in my own therapy because I deeply believe in this process of growth and self-discovery.
