Therapy can help

My Approach

In the face of life's challenges, our power lies in our response.

I was trained in a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework to facilitate deep reflection on thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, exploring the connections between them, and using that knowledge to help you understand yourself better. I use an eclectic approach and pull from other types of therapy as well to find whatever works best for you.

We will find the right tools and techniques to help you respond to your stressors, and move towards achieving a sense of inner peace.

Along with CBT, I employ faith-based counseling, mindfulness, trauma informed therapy, and art therapy techniques in sessions.

In Therapy

  • Addressing anxiety involves understanding its origins and triggers and examining how the mind-body connection influences your emotions. Utilizing talk therapy, mindfulness exercises, and tailored interventions that best suit YOU, we collaborate to identify the right tools and techniques, guiding you toward a more calm and fulfilling daily life.

  • In treating depression, a CBT and mindfulness based framework focuses on reshaping negative thought patterns and behaviors. Together, we navigate the roots of depression, identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs that contribute to your emotional distress. We work together to shift towards healthier perspectives, build coping strategies, and work towards helping you achieve a more balance.

  • In therapy, addressing challenges in relationships often stems from navigating challenging dynamics. While we can't control others' behavior, therapy provides a space to understand the patterns that come up in your relationship, enhance communication skills, explore culturally-appropriate boundaries, and acquire the tools you need for personal growth and healthier connections.

  • Embracing change is hard, and is often accompanied by a range of emotions like worry, anxiety, anger, and sadness. Using CBT and mindfulness techniques, we delve into these emotions, examining their connection to thought patterns, and develop healthy strategies to process and cope with the changes you’re experiencing. Together, we can navigate the complexities of transformation, and build resilience while you navigate life transitions.
